Difficulties faced while writing a Dissertation

Let’s face it- writing a dissertation is not an easy job yet it is one of the most crucial works for a student
that he needs to face for a brighter future and higher opportunities. Some of the psychological forces that you suffer from while writing a dissertation can be addressed easily, relatively. There are other difficulties which are harder to address. 

Some students have fairly good skills of getting their work done. They not only write their projects with 
utmost attention, they also enjoy doing their work and are motivated to complete it without any 
reluctance. However, they head in their own pace and sometimes lack self motivation, causing a block 
which can be resolved at an early stage.
 If you have faced a problem, you should sit down and write about it. It could be as simple as including an 
idea in the dissertation writing or excluding it. The first step is to identify the problem. The next step is 
to brainstorm the solutions either on our own or with the help of someone else. For example, one student faced difficulty writing and got stuck. He instead of feeling depressed about it, opted for seeking the solutions. Next, he felt that he was unable to solve the problem and so he reached the advisor or the professor seeking help. Much to his surprise, the advisor said that he can drop the chapter altogether and no one else would know that he had intended to include it. The process of the solution he received saved him a lot of time and trouble. 

In other cases, students sometimes get into a vicious circle where they intend to do more and more than 
expected and become self-critical. They turn the dissertation writing a negative experience. The task 
becomes forceful and they become angry, agitated and worried.  The prospect of writing an assignment 
becomes burdensome and hence, they start to avoid the task. If this is anyhow you then you need to 
create a regimen which allows the dissertation writing process a positive one. You need to develop a 
habit that demands small commitments. For instance, fix the time of writing a dissertation in a day and 
follow that for the week to come and reschedule, if necessary. 

There are some students who suffer from external factors that affect their dissertation writing process 
such as problems with the university, personal conflicts etc. The solution to these problems is yet again, 
seeking the solution and ask for help if you are unable to resolve it. If you have a problem with the advisor, you can switch the advisors or look for someone else for the guidance. If in case you have to deal with the personal problems, then you need to understand that not everything is in your hands and you cannot control everything. 

Long term of twisted emotions like sadness, discouragement, inferiority, worthlessness, anger, resentment or indecisiveness etc. need to be considered for proper counseling or medication. Remember, you cannot jeopardize the dissertation writing while you are depressed. So, it is imperative to keep a stable head while completing your project to help you with academic excellence.
